I haven't been photographing anything lately, but I have (sort of) an idea of taking lots and lots of pictures of my neighborhood (for people familiar with Bucuresti, that's Buzesti 'hood, Gara de Nord & Piata Matache). Thinkin about your typical b&w shots, nothin spectacular, but as a whole something that might be cute. Heck if i know, i'm not the artist here.
Donno if I'll be posting them here, more probably on Flickr ([link]), mostly coz of Flickr's photo set option.

Some time ago this dude asked me why i liked taking pictures. And if i'm getting anything out of it. Don't really remember what i said, probably that it's a hobby or that it's fun. Donno. Something trivial like that (i like that word).
But it made me think (and that sure is somethin).
You'll have to take my word for it, but i'm not into photography coz i think i look cool with a camera in my hand, or coz i think i'm an aartist (yes, longer 'a' when you say artist).
I started maybe 4 or 5 years ago taking goofy photos of my friends with a screenless digital camera of about one mega pixel or less. Then i uploaded them on a site made with Frontpage (yes, lame-o) after i had 'edited' the pictures. Edited meant writing "I am a wanker' over my desk mate's head, or cut & pasting his innocent face under my shoe. Yes, how witty of me...
Later i bought a Benq, horrible camera, and even later, about a year and a half ago, a good friend - *Teh-cHix0r - convinced me to sign up here.
Well, enough history, the point i wanted to make was that i took up photography just for the fun of it. I'm not an artist. I never thought (and still don't) think of what i'm doing as art. At best it's an exercise in creativity and esthetic spirit. I'll never make money out of it, nor will i ever see my pictures hung on art-show walls. It's just fun. And always second-row importance compared to other stuff i do.
